Position Summary:Leads and develops the Purchasing Team of the Automation Solutions Business Unit in procurement of required materials, supplies, equipment and services to achieve the financial and operating objectives set by the overall organizational business plan. Responsible for developing the Purchasing Team and implementing advanced Supply Chain Strategies to meet objectives. Drives a Lean Culture in a high energy team environment. Provides hiring, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports.Major Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with Manufacturing, Materials, Project Managers, Engineering, Sales and leadership, as well as other areas in the general Supply Chain organization, including Sourcing, to drive Supply Chain performance by improving supplier cost, quality, and lead times and reducing component and assembly inventory levels.
• Develops and executes on time delivery, inventory turns, inventory availability adherence to production plans, cost improvements and ensures continued employee growth through development. Coordinates with materials and management to develop inventory investment strategies to set goals and objectives for areas of responsibility.
• Facilitates and leads strong supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials. Investigates potential for delays and/or quality issues, identifies alternative (approved) plans, and engages, elevates when any sourced item will not arrive on time to support the schedule.
• Supports removal of barriers to improve shipping and receiving costs to facilitate timely transport of goods within budgets and government regulations.
• Establishes and maintains appropriate systems and processes to ensure honest, fair, and ethical work environment; adhering to legal regulations. Manages both human and economic resources.Required Education / Experience / Skills:
  • Materials, Business, Finance, or Engineering degree, or equivalent experience
  • Direct Purchasing or Sourcing Leadership Experience (5-10 yrs experience)
  • Experience with computerized purchasing systems including EPR/MRP, with SAP experience desired
  • Ability to deal and negotiate with suppliers
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to function independently
  • Effective communicator (verbal, written)
