view the opportunity below.The Portfolio Manager I will underwrite
and manage a portfolio of professional service firms, professional
practices, private banking, commercial and commercial real estate
relationships within Wealth Management to ensure retention and
expansion of existing client relationship. Primary performance
responsibilities include analyzing financial data to determine the
merits of loan requests, recommend structure, and ensure compliance
with Associated Bank credit policy and guidelines and overall
credit quality of the loan portfolio. Responsible for expanding and
deepening customer relationships by identifying customers' needs
comprehensively and matching their needs with selections and
resources within the colleague's assigned business line and across
all business lines of Associated Bank.This person will also:
- Ensure the portfolio administration and risk management of each
client relationship is in compliance with established Associated
Banc-Corp credit policy, procedure and business strategy as well as
commercial and regulatory guidelines. Operate in full compliance
with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable
regulations and laws.
- Prepare credit presentations both for existing and prospective
borrowers to assist in the underwriting process. Determine the
Borrowers' primary and secondary sources of repayment ability as
well as the Bank's collateral position. Identify all risks
associated with the proposed structure and explain all mitigating
factors. Include a Risk Rating Rationale for the Borrower noting
specific upgrade and downgrade triggers. Compile an accurate
relationship profitability analysis as directed by corporate
policy.
- Assist in the preparation of Opportunity Memos for prospective
and current Borrowers including recommending structure, preparing
and analyzing cash flows and financial information, identifying all
potential risk and mitigants, listing a Risk Rating Rationale and
estimating relationship profitability .
- Monitor loan repayment activities and financial condition of
borrowing clients and take necessary action to collect past due
accounts and ongoing repayment ability of all other accounts.
Escalate any issue to appropriate levels and develop a plan to
migrate if necessary. Assume overall responsibility for the credit
quality of the loan portfolio. Manage the renewal process by
working with the Relationship Manager the client and the credit
department.
- Prepare annual reviews and Dual Risk Rating verifications on
all credit facilities to ensure proper risk assessment with the
portfolio. In addition, evaluate all new and existing loan
documentation to verify that all documents are in place, in
compliance with governing laws and regulations and loan policy and
match the approved credit presentation. Oversee, prepare and
coordinate Criticized asset review meetings with assigned
region.
- Actively participate in meetings with Relationship Managers,
Assistants, Team Leads and internal Business Partners on a
consistent basis with regards to status of the loan portfolio
including administrative reports, current pipeline and any new
credit issues relating to credit policy.
- Prepare Private Banking performance relative to portfolio
administration through the use of various monthly and quarterly
reports such as past due loans, maturing loans, annual reviews,
documentation exceptions, etc. Update weekly pipeline reports and
any assigned Loan Programs. Maintain current portfolio's
administrative reports to ensure all covenants, annual reviews,
renewals are completed in a timely basis. Work with Relationship
Manager to ensure that all financials requirements are obtained and
reviewed in a timely basis. Report results to Credit Manager.
- Responsible for identifying cross sales opportunities of all
bank services, especially non-borrowing services; Capital Market
(SWAP) enhancements; Treasury Management; Commercial Banking;
Trust; Retirement Plan Services to our existing client base as well
as prospects.Education
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and
experience in Business, Finance, or Accounting. PreferredExperience
- Less than 2 years Private Banking or Commercial Banking with
credit knowledge. Required
- 2-4 years Private Banking or Commercial Banking with credit
knowledge. PreferredLicenses and Certifications
- Must have access to reliable transportation and the ability to
