supervision, underwrite, evaluate and decision loans in accordance
with the established underwriting policy and guidelines. Conform
with all Regulatory requirements such as ATR/QM, HOEPA, HPML, and
Fair Lending. Analyze tax returns, financial statements, credit
reports, business reports and legal documents. Calculate the
necessary ratios to assist in the decision process. Maintain
quality credit decisions and turnaround time. Assist with ongoing
training of the lender on all loan products and credit
fundamentals.This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.Due
to work requirements, candidates must be located within 30 miles of

Underwriter I - Mortgage, you will:
- Review applications on various types of residential loans for
credit and product guidelines. Review to include applicant's credit
profile/credit report, income, including basic corporate and
personal tax returns, as applicable, business reports and legal
documents. Perform credit analysis and approve or deny credit
applications based on authorized lending limits. Proactively seek
solutions with lenders from all business lines to ensure rate,
term, and application structure on all loan products are compliant
with current policies, procedures, and Regulatory requirements. Aid
in the resolution of any application issues in an effective manner,
mutually benefiting our customers and the bank.
- Clear conditions and rework loans for changes of circumstance
as necessary.
- Verify the accuracy of the data input in the Loan Origination
System and that all product guidelines have been met.
- Use discretionary judgment for approval of credit applications
not meeting underwriting policies and procedures. Ensure proper
documentation and sign-offs are made for credit exceptions.
Maintain credit exception approval percentages within corporate
approved guidelines.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of current Underwriting policies,
guidelines and compliance issues using available resources.
Including all lending related Federal and State
regulations.Education
- Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and
experience Finance or Business. RequiredExperience
- 2-4 years Relevant lending experience, processing, funding,
etc. Required
- Less than 2 years Directly related to mortgage underwriting and
lending products, policies and procedures. RequiredIn addition to
